Title: Menorah
Date: Early 20th century
Description: A seven-branched candelabrum from the Halych kenesa. Since 1959, it was kept in the home of Semen Martkovych; in 2004, it was transferred to the Museum of Karaite History and Culture. The menorah symbolizes the second type of reward — a spiritual reward, for it is said: “The soul of a person is the lamp of the Lord…” (Mishlei/Proverbs 20:27). Its seven candles represented the seven sciences rooted in the Divine Torah.
